The Parish Council asked for some advice from the police following recent incidents in Felton. The police advise there has been two reported thefts from motor vehicle and one reported burglary, Offender of the theft from motor vehicle has been arrested and charged with the offences and was also identified as responsible for the burglary which he was also charged with. For securing the sheds what is recommended is insuring it is lock at all times when not in use and insuring access routes to the shed(Back gates etc) at secured from the inside, installing CCTV which covers the shed would be hugely beneficial as a prevention and evidence in future. Also covering any items from view from the windows(both shed and vehicles) often deters due to no guarantee of items they can take. For the theft from motor vehicle the main thing is to ensure the vehicle is locked before leaving it as offender only gained entry to vehicles due to them being unlocked at the time.
