Ovington Parish Council

The Village of Ovington lies at the centre of a parish containing several farms and satellite communities.  Its broad boundaries are Whittle Dene in the east, the A69 in the North, Entry Well and West Dean in the West and the River Tyne in the South.

The population is a little over 500 with a broad age and social mix.

The village has a long established social club and Winships which is a restaurant and bar. There is a play area on the village green and Joiners Nature Park on a spectacular site overlooking the Tyne Valley.  The village is well served by a very active Community Group which organises the village Fete and numerous events throughout the year. The highly regarded Ovingham First and Middle schools lie within the parish.

The Parish Council has five members and meets every two months in Ovington Social Club. Details of the meetings, agendas and minutes appear on the website and on the village notice board. Members of the public are welcome to attend the meetings.

The Parish Council is represented on the committee of the Ovington Community Group, the Ovingham Joint Burial Committee and the East Tynedale Forum of Parish and Town Councils.
