The Neighbourhood Plan Referendum has taken place.
The Plan now carries full weight in decision-making so far as material to the application.
The Plan will go forward to be formally 'made' by the County Council at Cabinet on 12 October, to become part of the statutory development plan for the area.
Attached is the Notice of Poll for the Neighbourhood Plan Referendum and location of polling station - Felton Village Hall
As residents of Thirston Parish you will shortly receive your ballot papers to vote on the Thirston Neighbourhood Plan.
The referendum takes place on Thursday 16 September.
This works like normal voting - if you are registered for postal voting you will receive postal vote papers and if you vote in person you will go to Felton Village Hall.
If you wish to review the Neghbourhood Plan it is on the NCC website and the Thirston Parish Council website - a hard copy can be viewed via the Lisa Hamlin, the Clerk, by contacting her on 01670 783 495.
The Independent Examiner has recommended some minor modifications to the plan in preparation for Referendum. The Parish Council have 5 weeks from the date of the Examiners report to modify the plan and get NCC to sign it off after which time we have 8 weeks within which to hold the Referendum. So please look out for the publicity advertising the Referendum as after everyone’s hard work it would be shame not to have a good turn out to vote on whether on not to adopt this Plan.
