Police Volunteers wanted
The role itself involves the following responsibilities –
1/ Conducting high visibility speed checks in designated areas.
2/ Operate speed detection equipment complying with the relevant legislation and policy.
3/ Accurately record and document information which is forwarded to the police
4/ Handle information obtained correctly ensuring current GDPR rules are adhered to.
The procedure for applying to join the scheme is as follows –
1/ Search for Northumbria Police volunteers online
2/ Click on citizens in policing
3/ Contact the volunteers team section by emailing personal details and that you are looking to get involved in the community speed watch team in your area.
4/ The actual process will involve an informal interview and obviously back ground checks to ensure suitability.
5/ If successful the applicant is then offered a position and away you go you’ve joined the team!
