Announcing the sad death of former Craster Parish Councillor Mark Green

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved friend and colleague Mark Green,  former Craster Parish Councillor, on 28th May 2025.

Mark was a dedicated and compassionate member of our community, remembered for his tireless service and unwavering support across many local causes. As a long-serving Member of Craster Parish Council, he brought thoughtfulness, commitment and kindness to every discussion and decision. His passion for our parish and its people was evident in all he did.

Mark was also a cherished member of the Craster RNLI Lifeboat Station, where he gave generously of his time and energy in support of lifesaving efforts along our coastline. He proudly represented the Craster Coastal Rowing Club in world championship competitions, embodying teamwork and community spirit in all he did.

Mark served on the board of governors for the Friends of Embleton School and Alnwick Duchess’s School, where his insight helped to guide and better local education.

Mark's entire life was dedicated to the service of our community and his loss will be felt deeply by all who had the privilege to know him. Craster Parish Council would like to extend our heartfelt condolences, thoughts and prayers to Mark's many friends and to his devoted family; in particular, to his beloved wife Dr Sarah Green OBE and their children.

Mark’s legacy of service, warmth and community spirit will never be forgotten.
