Announcing the sad death of former Craster Parish Councillor Mark Green

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved friend and colleague Mark Green,  former Craster Parish Councillor, on 28th May 2025.

Mark was a dedicated and compassionate member of our community, remembered for his tireless service and unwavering support across many local causes. As a long-serving Member of Craster Parish Council, he brought thoughtfulness, commitment and kindness to every discussion and decision. His passion for our parish and its people was evident in all he did.

Community updates - March 2025

Northumberland County Council has confirmed that it has now instructed Youngs RPS to market the former Tourist Information Centre for rent and they will be putting the property on the open market in the coming weeks. NCC will then review the levels of interest and proposed uses after a period of marketing and the Parish Council has asked to be consulted on any eventual end user of this site. 

Craster and Dunstan Community updates - February 2025

Works on the new entrance scheme to Craster village will commence in the next two weeks and the barrels shall be removed. NCC will be working to ensure that the scheme is delivered with as little disruption as possible and we look forward to seeing this finally come to fruition. Recent public consultation on Parish Council priorities in Craster/ Dunstan

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone who took part in our recent public consultation with residents and for setting out your priorities for our community over the next few years. It is wonderful to receive this positive feedback and to hear how highly our residents appreciate the work of the Parish Council. 

Change to the format of Craster Parish Council meeting - 21st November 2024

In light of the weather warning for this evening, the decision has been taken that the Full Council meeting of Craster Parish Council (21st November 2024) should be changed to a Zoom meeting.

Parish Council launches heritage blue plaques initiative

Craster Parish Council is currently inviting nominations for heritage blue plaques in its parish area.

These plaques are intended to be a dedication to a particular person, building or event of significance in our parish and details of the application process and the criteria for nominations can be found in the attached document.  

This scheme is based loosely on the English Heritage scheme for blue plaques in London and has been delivered in other local areas outside London by various Parish and Town Councils.  

Next Craster Parish Council meeting - change of date to 23rd July 2024

Please note that due to an unforeseen clash, the next meeting of Craster Parish Council will now take place on Tuesday 23rd July at 18:30pm in Craster village Hall. This is in place of the previously advertised 18th July date. 

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and look forward to welcoming residents to this meeting to discuss local projects and events.

Public meeting of the Craster and Dunstan community on the construction of the new mobile phone mast

Craster Parish Council is delighted to confirm that the construction of the new mobile phone mast is finally set to commence later this month. 

This has been a long running effort by our community, in partnership with iNorthumberland, and we are pleased that the works at the quarry car park are now imminent.

Craster Parish Council meeting - 15th February 2024 - CANCELLED

Craster Parish Council apologises for the short notice of this announcement, however due to a number of apologies being received for tonight's meeting, due to unforeseen circumstances, the decision has regretfully been made to cancel the meeting this evening (15th February 2024).

Our next meeting will take place in the Hall at 6:30pm on Thursday 21st March 2024.
