Ukrainian Crisis
One cannot begin to imagine the trauma and upset the Ukrainian people are suffering at the present time, it is heartbreaking to watch the daily reports on the television.
Talking to residents it is clear that those that are able are showing their generosity and doing what they can to help the Ukrainians in their hour of need.
Donations of money are being made, items of warm clothing, toiletries, blankets and medicines are being donated at the various collection points in the area.
Reading the NCC website the authority are ready and willing to assist families who come to Northumberland and are currently awaiting further guidance as to how the resettlement of the refugees will work. The humanitarian crisis has prompted many offers of accommodation and support from across the county some of these being from our area.
Ovi Fun and Whittle Dene CIC are organising an Easter Event which will include raising funds for the DEC Ukrainian Appeal. Full details of this event will be advertised in the Oracle.
We can only hope this atrocious war will end soon but in the mean time please continue to share your generosity and do what you can to support.
