Ovingham Parish Council - April 2022 Update
1. A Speed Survey was carried out between 17th March - 1st April at all three entrances to the village. We have received the results and NCC advise that the data collected shows that none of the 3 surveys have met the criteria for further enforcement. We have requested details of the criteria that have to be met for a 20mph speed limit to be introduced. We will report further in due course.
2. Parking at the schools remains a problem with large vehicles unable to pass by at times. Cllr Waddell has requested the NCC monitoring vehicle to return to observe the situation. The First School has also requested the parking enforcement officer visits the area, cars are blocking entrances to houses and parking on double yellow lines on a regular basis.
3. Reference to the issue of parking on the grass at the entrance to Bewick Lane / North Meadow - Home Group are still exploring how they can address and fund the parking problem but for the time being this is on hold.
4. Chalet Path – site meeting was held in March with NCC Highways Officer, no progress has been made with the re- laying of the BT or electricity cable.
