Planting Programme 2021

Back in November 2020 we had discussed how we could enhance our area and what improvements we could make.

This was in the middle of COVID lockdown and everyone was pretty miserable. We decided to apply for a grant to purchase bulbs which would come up year after year and buy planters to be filled with flowers in key locations.

In Feb 2021 we applied to the Community Foundation for £5000 not thinking they would agree to this amount. The application form was very comprehensive, and several members of the parish council helped to complete the application.

Northumberland Communities Together

Northumberland Communities Together has been launched in response to the Coronavirus pandemic. It will make sure our residents are kept safe and well throughout this crisis, and provide coordination to support individual volunteers, voluntary groups and communities across our county.

If you are struggling with managing at home and need support for basic things like food, and have been unable to get help from family, friends or local community groups, the council has set up a Community Response Hub as part of Northumberland Communities Together.

Local Services Update

Local Services Update - Response to Covid 19 - 7th April 2020 (letter from Councillor Glen Sanderson)

I am writing to keep you up to date with how Local Services are continuing to work in these
difficult times as we seek to protect our communities and staff during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Our main aims throughout this crisis are:

● keeping our employees safe whilst continuing to provide critical services
● playing our part in delaying the spread of the virus and
● supporting other areas of the Council and our communities

In light of fast-moving developments on the coronavirus situation Tritlington and West Chevington Parish Council considered the future of planned events, including meetings, and how it could continue to provide an appropriate level of service to residents. Following Public Health England and Government guidance it has decided to cancel all planned events and council meetings for the foreseeable, and conduct its business via email where possible. The priority of the Parish Council is, as always, the health and safety of Councillors, staff, and residents.
