A Guide to the Public Walks Around Rock and Rennington

The Parish of Rennington has a network of public rights of way allowing you to explore the counrtyside  on your doorstep through a short stroll, or longer circular walk or ride.  There is a Farm Trail in Rock Village, and although not on a public right of way, it is normally open to the public

The Walk Guide, which you can download as a PDF from the Documents/Other Page on this website, highlights the network in and around the parish and complements the ongoing work of Northumberland County Council to improve and promote public paths in Northumberland.

Footpaths and bridleways are a free and valuable resource, which are as much for local people as they are for the serious walker, cyclist or horse rider. Why not take advantage of your local paths and enjoy the health benefits of fresh air and exercise, as well as exploring our beautiful countryside.

Closure of Parish Churches During Coronavirus National Lockdown 2021

Although places of worship have not been closed under the Lockdown Rules recently announced, the Vicar and the Church Wardens have taken the decision to close All Saints Church in Rennington and St Philip & St James Church in Rock until further notice.

This is not a decision taken lightly, but we believe that it is our Christian duty to prioritise the needs of others before our own – to love our neighbours as ourselves, which means treating them as we would wish to be treated. In practical terms we need to minimise the risk of Covid-19 transmission and the best way to keep each other safe is to reduce contact with others as much as we can.

If anyone has any need to access, or anything else to do with the church, they may contact the Church Wardens in the first instance on 01665 577174 for Rennington and 01665 579301 for Rock.  If the Church Wardens are unable to deal with the matter, they will pas this on to the Vicar.  We ask that people do not contact the Vicar unnecessarily as she is rather busy at this time.
